For the 4th consecutive year the Shenzhen School Tennis Program achieved its’ two primary goals of introducing mini-tennis into primary school in Shenzhen along with providing a terrific marketing tool for the China Tennis Grand Prix Cup.
Conducted from October 31stthrough November 18th“SST” was held for 2,000 children in 20 primary schools offering basic tennis instruction and fun tennis& cultural activities that were used to select the school teams that competed in the Shenzhen School Tennis Championship held in conjunction with the “GPC” Tennis Festival on November 17th-18th at the King Glory Mall.
The “SST” Championship was an exciting affair enjoyed by a huge crowd of families, friends and Festival visitors. Taking home the title in the boys division was Wang Guanxiang (Luofang Primary School) over Ma Haohua (Jingbei Primary School). In the girls division Tan Junyi (Luofang Primary School) triumphed over Li Siting (Huali Primary School).
The “SST” Talent Show first place went to Liannan Primary School for their “Dancing Youth” performance. Second place went to Renmin Primary School for their “Guzheng Solo” rendition. Luoling Foreign Language Experimental School took third place for their creation of “Lake Dance”.
The always popular Poster Contest had many fantastic entries based around the “GPC” theme that forced the judges to award extra prizes. Standing at the top with the first place artistic presentation titled “Wonderful School Tennis Championship” was Gao Kaidi (Nanhu Primary School). There was a two-way tie for second place between Huali Primary School’s Liang Yuyao’s “The Tennis in My Mind” & Dongcheng Primary School’s Lin Qian’s “Swing”. A three-way logjam for third place featured Xiao Anqing (Dongcheng Primary School) for “Tennis Training”, Zhuang Yuhui (Huali Primary School) for “Tennis in My Mind” and Wei Qiuyu (Nanhu Primary School) with “Tennis Twins”.
