It was high drama at center court of the Zhengzhou (Henan) Tennis Center for the Mercedes-Benz “Tour 2024” Zhengzhou Girls Final on May 13th. Both finalists, Ren Keyu& Wang Jingyu, knew one another well hailing from the same town of Luoyang (Henan). Young Wang got off to a quick start taking the first set 6-3. The tide turned in the second set with Ren returning the favor 6-3 setting up the 10-point deciding set. Back & forth both girls matched point for point before Ren ran two straight points at the end to take the set & match 10-8 earning the coveted seeded spot in the Mercedes-Benz “Tour 2024” Finals in October in Shenzhen.

The boys final was an out-of-towners affair between Shandong’s Zhang Minghui& Beijing’s DuanYuankai. Unlike the girls tightly contested affair, Zhang make quick work of his opponent serving up a doughnut 6-0 first set and then closing out Duan 6-3 to head to Shenzhen with momentum in his favor.

“Tour 2024” latest feature streaming the top matches live on www.chinatennis.org.cn as well as on the BIG Sports app has been a huge success. “Tour 2024” is the only junior sports tournament in China to stream matches live!

Many thanks to Zhengzhou Tennis Center’s Mr. Zhou Bo, director, and Mr. He Peng, vice-director, for their terrific support all week providing outstanding facilities and hospitality to all of the elite 12/u junior boys & girls that participated in Mercedes-Benz “Swing for the Stars”.
