此次下午长达四个小时活动首先听取了来自马斯京根大学的胡贝尔博士（Dr. Walter Huber）所做的“教育的艺术”（The Craft of Teaching）的报告。
（Exercise for a Healthy Life）的陈述。
Beijing International Group was honored to take part in the BN Vocational School Leaders Conference on the afternoon of July 9th that was part of the three-day program for 60 BN headmasters, administrators & teachers representing 8-city group of BN schools in Beijing, Dailan, Sanya, Zhengzhou, Yanchang, Lijiang, Wuhan & Chengdu. The event was live streamed around the world.
The four-hour afternoon session commenced with a terrific presentation of “The Craft of Teaching” by Dr. Walter Huber of Muskingum University. Dr. Huber, who has been coming to China since 2006, demonstrated a unique & deep understanding of what goes into being a top-notch teacher, particularly with the challenges that BN teachers face working with students coming from disadvantaged areas.
Next up was my presentation of the new “Exercise for a Healthy Life” walking/running& daily exercise programs that will become part of the BN curriculum in “Showcase School” Beijing in September. The twelve-week course is designed by BIG partner, Yu Fu Group. YU Fu chairman Yu Jia, who just happens to be a famous CCTV 5 sportscaster and an avid marathoner, was on hand for the session. At the conclusion of our presentation, the BN Vocational School Physical Exercise Manual, that will be the reference book for the BN pre-school daily student physical exercise sessions, was unveiled in a special presentation to Madam Yao Li, founder & president of BN Vocational School.
The highlight of the afternoon was the BN “Yes, I Can” English Contest with two-person student teams representing all eight BN schools. Each student-team provided a five-minute presentation demonstrating their English skills in pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, grammar, delivery, originality and team work. Every student was absolutely fantastic! Acting as a judge along with Dr. Huber, Ms. Sabina Brady (BN board member & country manager for The Clinton Foundation) among other dignitaries, I can tell you that the competition was tighter than putting a string through the head of a pin! In the end there had to be a winner and that was the team from Chengdu BN School followed by a tie between Beijing & Wuhan BN Schools. Each BN team was enthusiastically supported by their school’s student cheerleading team with Wuhan BN School taking top honors in the ‘Cheer” category.
Operating under the more than appropriate motto “Education Lights the Journey of Life”, BN Vocational School makes a fantastic contribution to the education and life preparation of thousands of children migrant workers across China. We encourage you to visit www.bnvs.com to see more of BN’s great work and if you are able please make a donation. “BIG” is honored to support BN!
